Two bottles that look the same can be very different. Knowing how to read the label helps you compare and choose calmly.
Serving size
It tells you how many capsules or tablets make up one serving. All amounts in the table refer to that serving, not to a single capsule.
Amount per serving and % daily value
The amount tells you how much of each nutrient the serving contains. The % daily value compares that amount to a general reference for adults.
The form of the nutrient
The same mineral can come in different forms, for example magnesium glycinate or citrate, or vitamin D3 instead of D2. The label should say which one.
Other ingredients and warnings
Check the capsule (vegetable or gelatin), fillers and warnings. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or have a health condition, check with your health professional before using it.
